Chiropractic has been found to be very beneficial to treat cerviogenic headaches and preventing migraine. When you come to the clinic a full medical and lifestyle history will be taken. Assessment of the head neck and spine will be done to assess where and what treatment is appropriate. This process takes upto 1.5 hours and in the majority cases will include treatment on the first visit. Unless referral to your GP is needed or it is felt the chiropractic is not appropriate at this time.

What is McTimoney Chiropractic?
McTimoney Chiropractic is a gentle and precise form of chiropractic care that uses light, fast adjustments to improve alignment throughout the body. It is known for being a comfortable approach, suitable for people of all ages.
How can chiropractic help with headaches?
Headaches are often linked to tension, posture, and restricted movement in the neck and upper back. Gentle chiropractic adjustments can help reduce this tension, improve mobility, and support better overall function.
Many patients notice a reduction in the frequency or intensity of their headaches over time.
What types of headaches do you see?
I commonly see patients experiencing:
- Tension headaches
- Headaches linked to neck stiffness
- Postural headaches (often linked to desk work or screen use)
- Migraine sufferers (as part of a supportive care plan)
If needed, I will always advise if further medical input is appropriate.
What happens at the first appointment?
Your first visit will include:
- A full discussion about your symptoms and medical history
- An assessment of posture, movement, and alignment
- An explanation of what may be contributing to your headaches or discomfort
- Treatment, if appropriate
Everything is explained clearly so you feel comfortable and informed.
Will the treatment hurt?
Most people find treatment comfortable and relaxing. Occasionally, you may feel mild soreness afterwards, similar to how you might feel after starting a new exercise routine.
How many treatments will I need for headaches?
This depends on factors such as how long you’ve had your headaches and what is contributing to them.
Some patients feel relief quite quickly, while others benefit from a short course of care.
We will always discuss a plan that suits you—there is no pressure to continue longer than you wish.
Do I need a GP referral?
No, you can book directly. However, if your symptoms require further investigation, you may be advised to consult your GP.
Can you help with posture-related problems?
Yes—poor posture is a very common contributor to headaches and neck pain, especially with desk-based work. Treatment, combined with simple advice, can make a significant difference.
Is chiropractic safe?
Yes. Chiropractors in the UK are regulated by the General Chiropractic Council, which ensures high standards of training, safety, and patient care.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Comfortable, loose clothing is ideal, as I may need to assess how you move.
Can children or pregnant women be treated?
Yes. The gentle nature of McTimoney Chiropractic makes it suitable for both children and during pregnancy. All care is adapted to the individual.
Will I need ongoing treatment?
That’s entirely your choice. Some patients come for a short period to address a specific issue, while others choose occasional maintenance care to help stay well.
Where is the clinic based?
The clinic is a welcoming, home-based practice in Odiham, Hampshire, offering a calm and personal environment for your care.
